After some updates released on October 14 or later, many people see a blue BitLocker recovery screen when they turn on their Windows computer.
The screen asks for a BitLocker recovery key. You need this long number to unlock your files.
The problem can happen on Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2, and on Windows 10 version 22H2.
It seems to hit many computers with Intel chips that use a low-power feature called Connected Standby.
If the screen appears, type your BitLocker recovery key once. After that, the computer should start normally.
If you do not know the key, you can look for it in your Microsoft account. This may save your data.
Microsoft says it is sending out a fix now. Business users might need to install the fix by hand on every PC.
