On Tuesday, OpenAI released its Sora app for Android phones.
The company says the app uses artificial intelligence to turn written ideas into short videos.
Sora was first rolled out on Apple devices in September.
The app reached one million downloads in less than five days and held the top spot on Apple’s App Store for almost three weeks.
Android users in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam can now download the app from the Google Play store.
Bill Peebles, head of Sora at OpenAI, said the team is working on bringing the app to Europe soon.
To create a video, users type a short text prompt.
Sora’s AI makes a video that matches the words.
People can share their videos on a public feed, similar to TikTok.
The platform was invite-only at first, but it is now open to everyone for a limited time, OpenAI says.
